What to Expect From Transportation Services
Everyone’s supportive housing needs are different. At Me Living, we’re here to help you feel better along the way.
Transportation Request Process Your Case Manager will help schedule your rides. The more notice you give, the easier it is to coordinate.
Return Trips We arrange round-trip transportation when planned in advance. If plans change — communicate with your case manager as soon as possible.
Safety Comes First All rides are: Documented Pre-approved Provided by cleared staff or transportation partners No unapproved or last-minute rides.
Pick-Up Windows You will be given: Estimated pick-up window Driver name or description Where to meet your driver We respect your time and communicate clearly.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to pay for transportation? Most transportation is included in your support services at no cost to you, when it is linked to your care plan.
How far can I travel? Transportation usually stays within your local service area unless approved by your Case Manager for medical or essential needs.
. How long can I stay? Length of stay depends on the program type: Emergency Housing: Short-term stabilization Transitional Housing: 3–24 months Reentry / Recovery Housing: Based on progress and support needs Your stay is tied to your goals and safety, not a strict timeline.
Can I get rides to social visits or recreational activities? Not at this time. Transportation is for essential needs connected to your care plan (work, health, housing, stability).
What if I miss my ride? If you miss a scheduled ride without notice, we may not be able to reschedule the same day. Communication is key. Let us know as soon as anything changes.
Are rides guaranteed every day? Transportation must be: Requested in advance Linked to your care plan Confirmed based on scheduling, safety, and staff availability Emergency or same-day ride requests are handled case-by-case.
How do I request transportation? Contact your Case Manager, who will: Confirm the purpose of the trip Schedule your ride Send you pick-up details
Can my children ride with me? Yes, if: The ride is connected to your care plan The environment is safe for your child You inform your Case Manager in advance We always prioritize child safety.
Do I need insurance to receive transportation services? No. Transportation is based on your care plan and support needs, not your insurance status. If you are uninsured, we will still assist with approved rides and help you apply for insurance if eligible.
Does insurance cover my rides? In many cases, Medicaid may cover medical-related transportation, such as: Doctor appointments Therapy visits Medication management If Medicaid transportation is available in your area, we may: Help schedule it, or Coordinate rides through ME Living when appropriate Your case manager will help determine the best option based on your plan.
Can my children stay with me? In Family Stabilization Housing, yes. In other housing types, we review on a case-by-case basis to ensure the environment is safe and appropriate. We are committed to keeping families together whenever possible.
What if I don’t have Medicaid transportation? ME Living provides transportation directly when: Medicaid transportation is unavailable The appointment is time-sensitive The ride supports your recovery, housing, employment, or stability goals We do not deny rides because you are uninsured.
Transportation FAQ ME Living provides transportation for essential needs that support your stability and care plan. This includes rides to medical and mental health appointments, case management meetings, housing appointments, employment-related programs, and other approved services. Transportation must be scheduled in advance with your Case Manager and is provided based on safety, availability, and alignment with your goals. We do not provide transportation for personal, social, or recreational activities.
Can I get rides to work or school? Yes — if employment or education is part of your care plan and stable schedule. We support: Job interviews First shifts/start of employment Training or school routines Ongoing daily work rides may require scheduling agreements with your case manager.
Can rides be used for social, personal, or recreation activities? No. Transportation is provided for essential needs, including: Medical visits Case management Court/probation requirements Work or school Housing stability and recovery support Personal/social outings are not covered.
