Who is eligible for supportive housing? Individuals and families experiencing: Homelessness Domestic violence or unsafe housing Release from incarceration or institutions Recovery from mental health or substance use challenges Eligibility may vary by program, but we meet you where you are. If you’re unsure — reach out. We will help you assess.
Do I need insurance to be accepted? No. Housing eligibility is not based on insurance. However, if you do have Medicaid/Medicare, we can provide additional supportive services at no cost to you and help you apply if you don't.
. How long can I stay? Length of stay depends on the program type: Emergency Housing: Short-term stabilization Transitional Housing: 3–24 months Reentry / Recovery Housing: Based on progress and support needs Your stay is tied to your goals and safety, not a strict timeline.
Will I have my own room? Some programs offer private rooms, while others offer shared rooms to keep housing affordable and community-based. We always aim to ensure comfort, safety, and respect for your space.
What happens when I’m ready to move out? We do not release you without support. We help secure: Permanent housing Deposit & rental assistance when available Landlord communication support Transition planning Our goal is lasting stability — not just temporary shelter.
Does supportive housing cost money? Costs depend on the program. Some programs are fully funded, while others may have: Sliding scale room contributions Third-party funding assistance County/state housing subsidies No one is denied housing because of inability to pay.
What support services are included? All residents receive: One-on-one Case Management Resource navigation & benefit support Community support & life-skills coaching Programs may also include: Therapy, counseling, peer support Employment and education assistance Every plan is personalized to your needs.
Are there house rules? Yes — our rules are designed to keep everyone safe, respected, and supported. They include: Respecting others and shared spaces No violence, harassment, or unsafe behavior Participation in case management and support services Rules are not punishment — they are protection.
Do I need insurance to enter supportive housing? No. Housing is not determined by insurance status. You can enter our housing programs with or without insurance. If you are uninsured you must apply, we can help you apply for Medicaid or other benefits.
What insurance do you accept for supportive services? We accept: Medicaid Medicare Most Managed Care Plans (Ambetter, Peach State, Caresource, Amerigroup, UnitedHealthcare, Health Plan Partners, etc., depending on state) Don’t worry if you’re unsure — we verify coverage and explain benefits.
Can my children stay with me? In Family Stabilization Housing, yes. In other housing types, we review on a case-by-case basis to ensure the environment is safe and appropriate. We are committed to keeping families together whenever possible.
If I don’t have insurance now, can I still move in? Yes. Absolutely. You can begin housing immediately. We will: Help you apply for Medicaid/Medicare or insurance Support you through the application process Continue services while coverage is pending (where allowed)
What services are covered by insurance? Depending on your benefits, insurance may cover: Therapy / Counseling Case Management Peer Support Crisis Counseling Mental Health / Substance Use Support Life Skills Coaching These services support housing goals and long-term stability.
Will I receive a bill? If your insurance covers your services, you will not be billed. If there is a cost that applies, your case manager will: Review it with you Help you access financial assistance Ensure no surprise costs We operate with transparency and honesty.
Can I keep my current therapist or doctor? You may continue with your primary care doctor (PCP) if you choose. However, therapy and counseling services will be provided through our clinical team to ensure continuity of care, treatment coordination, and proper documentation for your housing and support services. With your permission, we can: Request records from your previous provider Coordinate transition to our in-house therapists Continue your care plan safely and consistently This ensures: No gaps in treatment Consistent progress tracking Accurate documentation for housing and support services Compliance with state and insurance standards You are still in control of your care — we simply make sure your support team is connected and coordinated.
