We offer mental health services, housing support, reentry services, and victim services across Georgia and California.

 

🔍 Position Overview

We’re seeking a Mental Health Specialist to support client stabilization and progress through screenings, supportive counseling, psychoeducation, crisis de-escalation, and coordinated care with therapists and case managers. The ideal candidate is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and comfortable working with diverse populations.

 

🎯 Responsibilities

  • Conduct mental/behavioral health screenings and contribute to treatment planning

  • Provide 1:1 supportive counseling and psychoeducation under clinical supervision

  • Co-facilitate groups (coping skills, wellness, anger management, relapse prevention)

  • De-escalate crises; complete safety planning and appropriate referrals

  • Collaborate with therapists, case managers, and community partners

  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation (e.g., SOAP notes, progress tracking)

  • Assist with referrals to higher levels of care when needed

 

✅ Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field (Master’s preferred)

  • Experience with trauma, homelessness, DV, substance use, or reentry populations

  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, HIPAA, and crisis protocols

  • Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills

 

🌟 Preferred Skills

  • Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) or Behavioral Health Technician (BHT)

  • Experience with Medicaid/Medicare documentation and EHRs

  • Bilingual (Spanish, Haitian Creole, or ASL)
