🏢 About Us
COCAS and ME Living serve vulnerable communities across Georgia and California through trauma-informed housing, therapy, reentry, and crisis response. Our Intake & Crisis team is the first point of contact for people experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, mental health crises, or justice-related transitions.
🔍 Position Overview
You’ll be the frontline responder: completing intakes, de-escalating crises, coordinating immediate placements/referrals, and ensuring swift access to services. You’ll document clearly, collaborate across teams, and help clients stabilize quickly and safely.
🎯 Responsibilities

Answer crisis calls/walk-ins; complete risk & safety assessments

Conduct comprehensive intakes; determine program eligibility

De-escalate clients using trauma-informed approaches; create safety plans
-
Coordinate emergency placements, transport, or warm handoffs to partners
-
Schedule next steps with therapy, case management, and medical supports
-
Maintain accurate, timely documentation (intake forms, incident reports, SOAP)
-
Track outcomes; participate in team huddles and quality reviews
✅ Qualifications
-
AA/BA/BS in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related (or equivalent experience)
-
Experience with high-risk populations (DV, homelessness, SUD, reentry)
-
Strong crisis intervention, boundary-setting, and communication skills
-
Familiarity with HIPAA, mandated reporting, and community resources
🌟 Preferred Skills

Prior work in shelter, ER, crisis line, or jail-based programs

Bilingual (Spanish, Haitian Creole, or ASL)

Flexible for evenings/weekends/rotations
